Our Story… so far
Hey there! My name is Jonathan — I'm an Armed Forces veteran who served 16 years. I was born in Northern Ontario and spent my childhood exploring the forests and waterways on the north shore of Lake Nipissing. The Forces brought me to the Kingston and Trenton areas, and this is where I have called home since. Service taught me to stay calm, resourceful and organized, and to leave a minimal footprint on my environment.
I've been an organic hobby farmer and gardener for 24 years, and I'm a welder, fabricator and maker. I've studied practical nursing with a focus on mental health, civil engineering technology and mechanical technology, and in 2023 I attended an intensive business boot camp for veterans, where this plan took shape.
My partner, Christine, is a Developmental Services Worker with more than 12 years of experience developing and running programming for people with disabilities.
Our vision: we are not developers. We see 29.8 acres of mixed field and forest becoming our family homestead, cared for and protected, with gardens, orchards, sheep and an off-grid home. In addition to yoga, meditation, art and Scandinavian spa retreats, we plan to host respite weekends and farm-to-plate dinners made with our own produce.
Wolf & Cricket Hollow will be our legacy — a way to care for the land for generations and to share a healthier, nature-connected life with like-minded people.
